HUNTINGDON COUNTY, situated toward the southern part of Pennsylvania, and traversed by Juniata river. Area, 1,276 square miles. Face of the country mountainous; soil barren, except on the streams. Seat of justice, Huntingdon. Pop. in 1810, 14,778; in 1820, 20,142; in 1830, 27,159; in 1840, 35,484; in 1850, 24,786.
