HENDERSON COUNTY, situated on the southerly boundary of North Carolina. Area, 700 square miles. Face of the country, mountainous, the Blue Ridge traversing the east and south. Seat of justice, Hendersonville. Pop. in 1840, 5,129; in 1850, 6,853. (Fanning's, 1853)
