PICKENS COUNTY, situated on the west boundary of Alabama, and traversed by Tombigbee river. Area, 720 square miles. Seat of justice, Carrollton. Pop. in 1830, 6,622; in 1840, 17,118; in 1850, 21,512. (Fanning's, 1853)
