To General Commissioners José María Valle and Fermin Ferrer.

    León, October 28, 1855.

I had the honor of receiving your correspondence today, and having informed the Head Senator, I have been instructed to tell you the following in response: by yesterday’s decree, the Supreme Governor has authorized General in Charge William Walker to ratify and execute the peace treaty that was drafted on the 23rd of this month with General Ponciano Corral in Granada.  At the same time, he has named a commission to put said authorization in the hands of General Walker and to publicize it in the name of the State for the important victories that we have achieved, which have been facilitated in the name of achieving peace.

The indicated commission should be leaving this city with you on the trip to the city of Granada.

With the expressed verification of the Provisional Government regarding the content of your aforementioned official letter, I have the pleasure of calling myself your attentive servant.
