Robinson, Joseph L.

Joseph L. Robinson, who served in the United States Colored States during the Civil War, was born in 1843 in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. In January 1864 Robinson went to Carlisle, Pennsylvania and joined company B of the 25th USCT Regiment. After his military service ended on December 6, 1865, Robinson returned to Shippensburg, where he worked as a laborer. He married Catherine and it remains unclear whether they had any children. Robinson died in October 1899 and was buried in the Locust Grove Cemetery in Shippensburg. (By Don Sailer)
