The famous Brooklyn Excelsior Club visited Baltimore on a weekend tour and were hosted in a match against the Baltimore club of the same name. In a game played on the first day of autumn, the Excelsiors of Baltimore could not stay with the renowned New Yorkers and lost the match by a lopsided score of 51-6. (By John Osborne)
