House of Mr. and Mrs. F.B. Bryant, friends of Stephen Douglas. Here Douglas wrote the letter of proposal for the Lincoln-Douglas Debates and also met with Lincoln on the evening of July 29, 1858 to agree on the details of the plan of debates.
