Source note
This British cartoon portrays Giuseppe Garibaldi as a modern day Perseus rescuing  Andromeda by slaying the sea monster who had imprisoned her.  Garibaldi's remarkable invasion of Sicily the previous month had expelled the royal forces of the Bourbon King Francis II of Naples, here represented as "Bomba Junior" after the infamous penchant for Bourbon rulers in Italy to shell their own subjects.  (By John Osborne)
