FLOYD COUNTY, situated in the southerly part Indiana, with the Ohio river on the southeast. Area, 144 square miles. Face of the country hilly; soil inferior. Seat of justice, New Albany. Pop in 1820, 2,776; in 1830, 6,363; in 1840, 9,444; in 1850, 14,875.
