HAMILTON COUNTY, situated on the southern boundary of Tennessee, and traversed by Tennessee river. Area, 464 square miles. Face of the country hilly and partly mountainous. Seat of justice, Harrison. Pop. in 1820, 821; in 1830, 2,276; in 1840, 8,175; in 1850, 10,075. (Fanning's, 1853)
