    Of Illinois.

    Subject to the Decision of the Charleston Convention.

    Resolution passed at the First District Convention, held at Vergennes, Feb. 29, 1860.

    Resolved, That in this the native district of a distinguished Democratic statesman, our hearty endorsement is given to the principle, now become of vital importance to the Democratic party, and the man, imperatively demanded by the present crisis in political affairs – the PRINCIPLE, POPULAR SOVEREIGNTY, - the MAN, STEPHEN A. DOUGLAS.
