Advertising Patronage and the “Irish” Weekly Newspapers.

    No. 102 NASSAU Street- April 15, 1857.

To the Editor of the New-York Daily Times:

SIR: In an article yesterday you mention the Celt as among the recipients of Governmental advertising patronage. This is a mistake. Not only have we not enjoyed any such patronage, but our course “last Fall,” in insisting on fair play for Col. FREMONT, was visited by GEO. W. JONES, and others of “the Democracy,” with “a stop my paper” penalty, of which we feel as proud, as the authors ought to feel ashamed.

    Very respectfully yours,

    McGEE & MITCHELL,
    Publishers of the American Celt.
