Train crash in upstate New York kills and injures many passengers.

At least nine people were killed and many others injured when an defective wooden trestle collapsed under a passenger train of the Canada and Vermont Railroad near Schaghticoke in upstate New York.  The cars of the train were thrown almost forty feet into the river below and sank in eight feet of water.
