Seven killed in a boiler explosion in a Brooklyn, New York hat factory

At seven-thirty in the morning, in Brooklyn, the new three-story hat factory of Ames, Moulton, and Company on Sanford Street was destroyed in a massive explosion.  A steam-boiler had blown up killing the engineer working on it, bringing down the building, and taking the lives of six other men.  Luckily, the morning shifts had not begun and few workers were on the premises.
