Italian provinces of Romagna, Emilia, and Tuscany vote for annexation by Piedmont-Sardinia

The provinces of Romagna, Emilia, and Tuscany began voting March 11, 1860 on a plebiscite over the question whether the area, which included the Duchies of Modena and Palma, should unite in a separate kingdom or request annexation the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia.   Voting lasted for a week with the overwhelming results - 202,659 to 254 in Romagna - favoring annexation and the obvious progress towards a united Italy.
