Abraham Lincoln speaks to New Hampshire Republicans at Exeter

Abraham Lincoln, on a speaking tour of New England following his Cooper Union speech, met with his son Robert Todd Lincoln, then attending Phillips Academy, and gave a speech to Exeter, New Hampshire Republicans in the evening.  He spent all of the next day with his son and his classmates and attended services in the Academy chapel. Robert was in his last year at Phillips and in September entered Harvard. (By John Osborne)
