Arriving in Boston, Stephen Douglas continues his political tour

In what was rapidly appearing to look like an unprecedented "campaign tour" for a nominated presidential candidate, Stephen Douglas arrived in Boston in the early evening after a brief stop and address at the Worcester, Massachusetts train station.  Met by a large crowd and paraded through the streets to his accommodations at the Revere House where he gave a speech later that night. He was scheduled next for Philadelphia. (By John Osborne)
