In Connecticut, Bridgeport elects a Republican mayor

The city of Bridgeport, Connecticut elected Republican D.H. Sterling as its mayor as his party swept the ticket, easily defeating a Democratic slate even though that party had set aside its national differences and run a "fusion" election.  (By John Osborne)
