In Canada, storms cause heavy damage along the coast of the Gulf of St. Lawrence

Two days of violent gales struck the Gulf of St. Lawrence in eastern Canada and caused severe damage along the western coast.  The town of Shediac in present-day New Brunswick, lost wharves and building, and sailing vessels were driven ashore.  (John Osborne)
