In Canada, an earthquake across Quebec causes excitement but only mild damage and no reported deaths

A magnitude six earthquake with an epicenter to the north of Quebec City on the St Lawrence River shook the city and surrounding areas, causing significant alarm but only light damage.  The tremors took place around six o'clock in the morning and were felt as far away as Montreal and in northern Maine.  (By John Osborne)
