Hanakkuh, the Jewish Festival of Lights, ends

The Festival of Lights, commemorating the miraculous burning of the lamps during the reconsecration of the Temple after its liberation from the Greeks, ended its eight day celebration for 1864 in the Jewish community across the United States.  (By John Osborne)
