The Ninetieth New York Volunteer Infantry had been formed in late 1861 and had served throughout the war, many of its members re-enlisting and therefore being termed "veterans." The regiment mustered out on February 9, 1866 and returned home to Brooklyn to the full honors of a massive parade. (By John Osborne)
