At Long Branch, the New Jersey militia parade before the state governor and hundreds of vacationers.

At five in the evening, the First Brigade of the New Jersey Militia, paraded along the beach front at Long Branch, New Jersey before Governor Marcus Lawrence Ward. The regiments had been engaged in their annual summer encampment in the area, and marched in a company front before a large crowd well-wishing holidaymakers.  (By John Osborne)
