Maj. Gen. E. M. Law Dies.
BARTOW, Fla., Oct. 31.—Major Gen. E. M. Law, ranking surviving officer of the Army of the Confederacy, died here today after a week’s illness.
General Law was 84 years old, and was a professor of history and belle letters at the King’s Mountain Military Academy when the civil war started, and he was appointed Lieutenant Colonel of the 4th Alabama Infantry, and served through the war, attaining the rank of Major General in March, 1865.
