SHADRACH, THE FUGITIVE SLAVE.
A Montreal correspondent of the Cleveland True Democrat says:Did you ever hear of one Shadrach Minkins; the one that ran away from Boston; the very same; Yes, here he is, 172 1-2 Notre Dame street. I went with Mr. R. Maxcey, a gentleman from Mississippi, to see Shadrach, at Mr. M’s request.
Shadrach is keeping a saloon and doing well, but says he had rather live in Boston, all other things being equal.
Mr. Maxcey said of Shadrach. He is a smart fellow, but he knows too much. I would not want him among my niggers.
