-
The State Adjutant-Generals, responsible for their states' militias, met in their annual convention in Boston, Massachusetts for the first time since the war. Senator Henry Wilson of the Senate Military Committee spoke, ideas were exchanged, a comprehensive listing of the state troops provided during the war was published, and a request was made that the War Department turn over Confederate battle flags captured to the states whose regiments secured them in battle.  (By John Osborne)
