Runaway slaves pass through Albany, NY with help from local officials

A reporter for the New York Times witnessed two runaways slaves near the State Capitol in Albany, and observed them receiving notable assistance from several local officials who remark sarcastically, "Taney says they have no rights which a white man is bound to respect, let us give them our sympathy."
