Moncure Conway enters Harvard Divinity School

Moncure Conway enters Harvard Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts where he will train to become a Unitarian minister. While in Massachusetts, Conway will meet Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, William Lloyd Garrison and other prominent intellectuals. His religious studies at Harvard and his encounters with these diverse thinkers will ultimately influence Conway's thoughts on slavery and philosophy. (By Blake Dickinson)
