ADAIR COUNTY, southern part of Kentucky, having a mean length of about 28 miles, and an area of 800 square miles. The face of the country is generally broken, with a diversity of soil. Courts are held at Columbia, the chief town. Pop., in 1820, 8,765; in 1830, 9230; in 1840, 8,460; in 1850, 9,898.
