Attala County, MS

ATTALA COUNTY, situated in the central part of Mississippi, and drained by Black river and the head branches of Pearl river. Area, 720 square miles. Face of the country level; soil moderately fertile. Courts are held at Kosciusko. Pop., in 1840, 4,303; in 1850, 10,999. (Fanning's, 1853)
