CRAWFORD COUNTY, situated on the west boundary of Pennsylvania. Area, 1,016 square miles. Face of the country moderately hilly; soil generally productive of grain, pasturage, and fruits. Seat of justice, Meadville. Pop. in 1820, 9,397; in 1830, 16,005; in 1840, 31,724; in 1850, 37,849.
