GREENE COUNTY, situated at the southwest corner of Pennsylvania, with Monongahela  river on the east. Area, 576 square miles. Face of the country hilly; soil fertile. Seat of justice, Waynesburgh. Pop. in 1810, 12,544; in 1820, 15,554; in 1830, 18,028; in 1840, 19,147; in 1850, 22,136.
