PIKE COUNTY, situated on the easterly boundary of Pennsylvania, with Delaware river on the southeast and northeast. Area, 729 square miles. Face of the country, mountainous; soil, rocky and barren. Seat of justice, Milford. Pop. in 1820, 2,894; in 1830, 4,843; in 1840, 3,832; in 1850, 5,881. (Fanning's, 1853)
