DE KALB COUNTY, situated toward the northwest part of Georgia, with Chattachoochee river on the northwest. Area, 360 square miles. This county consists principally of an elevated table land. Seat of justice, Decatur. Pop. in 1830, 10,047; in 1840, 10,467; in 1850, 14,328.
