THE PRESIDENT’S VISIT. – We are too much pressed for room to give any detailed account of Mr. Buchanan’s reception at points between Weldon and Chapel Hill. At every depot between Weldon and Raleigh there was a crowd to meet and shake hands with him. At Franklinton, where the party dined, an address was delivered, to which the President responded. At Raleigh, thousands of people, and eleven military companies from Raleigh, Wilmington, Concord, Salisbury, Charlotte, Iredell, Newbern, and Hillsborough, were assembled to greet him. The Hon. Daniel M. Barringer delivered the address of welcome, to which the President replied happily and patriotically.
He returned to Raleigh on Friday, and left for Warren on Saturday morning.
Only one of the military companies (that from Wilmington,) accompanied the President to Chapel Hill – why, we know not.
