Advocates for women's rights meet in Poughkeepsie, New York

A one-day gathering of women's rights advocates met in Poughkeepsie, New York, the day after the end of the New York State Teachers' Association meeting there.  Five hundred people heard speeches from the Reverend Antoinette Blackwell and Susan B. Anthony, with the education of women much as the central focus.  (By John Osborne)
