BUTLER COUNTY, situated toward the southwest part of Kentucky, and traversed by Green river. Area, 570 square miles. Seat of justice, Morgantown. Pop. in 1830, 3,058; in 1840, 3,898; in 1850, 5,754. (Fanning's, 1853)
