CRAWFORD COUNTY, situated in the southern part of Indiana. Area, 300 square miles. Face of the country generally hilly; soil productive. Seat of justice, Fredonia. Pop. in 1820, 2,583; in 1830, 3,238; in 1840, 5,282; in 1850, 6,356. (Fanning's, 1853)
