MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, situated on the easterly boundary of Arkansas, with Mississippi river on the east, and the St. Francis on the west, and traversed by Whitewater river. Area, 1,000 square miles. Seat of justice, Osceola. Pop. in 1840, 1,410; in 1850 2,368.
