CALCASIEU PARISH, situated on the southwest corner of Louisiana, on the east side of Sabine river, with the Gulf of Mexico on the south. Area, 5,000 square miles. Seat of justice, Lisbon. Pop. in 1840, 2,057; in 1850, 3,914.
