Abraham Lincoln rallies Connecticut Republicans in a strong evening speech at Norwich

Abraham Lincoln, on a speaking tour of New England following his Cooper Union speech, spoke to an enthusiastic crowd at the Town Hall in Norwich, Connecticut.  Calling slavery "the all absorbing topic of the day," he concluding with a powerful political rallying cry for the upcoming election saying, "Let us have faith that right makes might; and in that faith let us, to the end, dare to do our duty, as God gives us power, and as we understand it." (By John Osborne)
