Opposition Party holds on to power in the Philadelphia municipal elections

In the Philadelphia Municipal elections, the Opposition candidate for mayor, Alexander Henry won a narrow victory over his Democratic challenger.  The rest of the ticket was similarly successful for other city offices. The Democrats did gain in the Select Council and Common Council election but did not take control of either body.  (By John Osborne)
