Alabama lighter capsizes in Mobile Bay during a squall and two men drown

The small schooner Pioneer was transporting a load of railroad iron from the larger ship Windsor Forest into the port of Mobile in Alabama.  She was struck with a sudden squall and capsized.  Of the six men in her crew, four were rescued and two drowned.  (By John Osborne)
