Gibson, Samuel

Samuel Gibson served in Company C of the 8th United States Colored Troops during the Civil War. While at the Battle of Olustee on February 20, 1864 in Florida, Gibson was wounded and sent to a hospital in Beaufort, South Carolina. Gibson returned to his company in March, but in November 1864 he left his regiment after he got sick. He remained in a hospital for the rest of his military service. (By Don Sailer)
