McClellan, Samuel

Samuel McClellan was born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania around 1844 and served in the United States Colored Troops during the Civil War. According to McClellan’s service records, he worked as a laborer before the conflict. In February 1864 McClellan joined Company F of the 32nd USCT in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. McClellan was sent to a hospital in early October 1864 and in late May 1865 was discharged from military service in Beaufort, South Carolina “on account of physical disability.” (By Don Sailer)
