BROWN COUNTY, situated on the south boundary of Ohio, on the north side of Ohio river. Length, 30 miles; mean width, 17, with an area of about 470 square miles. The face of the country is hilly, and the soil generally fertile. Seat of justice, Georgetown. Pop in 1830, 17,857; in 1840, 22,715; in 1850, 27,332.
