MARION COUNTY, situated in the centre of Indiana, and traversed by West Fork of White river. Area, 400 square miles. Seat of justice, Indianapolis, which is also the state capital. Pop. in 1830, 7,192; in 1840, 16,080; in 1850, 24,100.
