CUMBERLAND COUNTY, situated on the south boundary of Kentucky, and traversed by Cumberland river. Area, 270 square miles. Face of the county undulating and hilly on the east, and not much cultivated. Seat of justice, Burkesville. Pop. in 1830, 8,624; in 1840, 6,090; in 1850, 7,005.
