COOSA COUNTY, situated near the central part of Alabama, on the east side of Coosa river. Area, 870 square miles. Face of the country mountainous and hilly, with extensive forests of pine. Seat of justice, Rockford. Pop. in 1840, 6,995; in 1850, 14,533.
