DICKSON COUNTY, situated toward the northerly part of Tennessee, with Cumberland river on the northeast. Area, 1,000 square miles. Face of the country level; soil of middling quality. Seat of justice, Charlotte. Pop. in 1810, 4,516; in 1820, 5,190; in 1830, 7,265; in 1840, 7,074; in 1850, 8,404.
